The North Carolina Tar Heels somehow are still unranked in the College Football Playoff Rankings, despite their 8-3 record on the season. While the CFP Committee might be putting too much stock in the upset on the road against Duke a few weeks ago in Durham, the Tar Heels are out trying to prove that they are still a really good football team, all while they work towards staking a claim towards the Coastal Division crown. The Tar Heels need a win on Friday against NC State and a loss from Virginia Tech against Virginia, in order to return to the ACC Championship for the second consecutive season.
Meanwhile, the NC State Wolfpack started off the season on fire, looking like one of the surprises of the ACC. NC State started off the season 4-1, and nearly defeated the Clemson Tigers on the road in Death Valley in mid-October. However, since that near road upset, the Wolfpack have lost four out of their last five games, and now head into Friday afternoon’s rivalry game against North Carolina looking to improve on their 5-6 record and become bowl eligible.
This game starts out an exciting weekend of rivalry football, and I discuss the match-up in its entirety below with Mark Rogers.
