Duke and Virginia Part of ESPN’s College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon

The defending national champion Duke Blue Devils and the Virginia Cavaliers will both be participating in ESPN’s eighth annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Monday, Nov. 16 and Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Virginia will play in the first men’s game Monday night when the Cavaliers travel to take on George Washington at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

The Blue Devils will match up with the Kentucky Wildcats in the first game of the State Farm Champions Classic at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. ESPN’s College Gameday will broadcast live from inside the arena in the lead-up to that match up with the Duke-Kentucky tip scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN. Duke has won seven of its last eight meetings with Kentucky.

The Champions Classic will feature three of the four participants in last season’s Final Four with Duke, Michigan State and Kentucky.

The Cavaliers also made the NCAA Tournament last season, reaching the third round before being eliminated. Both Duke and UVA figure to be ranked in the top ten when preseason rankings are released in the fall.
